Experienced Senior Accountant Jobs in Satterfield & Pontikes Construction Houston, TX

Join our growing construction firm as a Construction Accounting Specialist, managing financial operations across five affiliated subsidiaries. This full-time position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong understanding of job cost accounting, intercompany transactions, and construction billing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across construction projects
• Reconcile GL accounts, bank statements, and credit card activity
• Support WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedule preparation and reporting
• Manage accounts payable/receivable and subcontractor payments
• Monitor billing accuracy, collections, and resolve discrepancies
• Work with the Legal team to ensure timely lien notices, bond claims, and legal filings
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation tracking
• Ensure correct application and filing of sales tax on taxable transactions
• Assist with annual audit preparation and documentation
• Collaborate with project managers and operations on financial planning
• Proactively improve internal controls and accounting procedures
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Deep understanding of construction billing, lien/bond processes, and job costing
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 per year
