Assistant Store Manager Jobs in Speed Queen Laundry Chicago, IL

As the Assistant Store Manager, you will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, driving excellent customer service, maintaining store standards, and developing team members. This role is key in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for customers while maximizing productivity and store performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members
• Support staff scheduling and manage hourly payroll reporting
• Deliver exceptional customer service by enforcing operational standards
• Address customer concerns and ensure satisfaction with all services
• Promote upselling and product knowledge among staff
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment, inside and out
• Follow safety protocols and ensure staff are trained in proper procedures
• Oversee merchandising and presentation of retail products
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment
• Train team members on point-of-sale systems and upselling techniques
• Ensure high-quality processing of laundry services
• Audit service logs for accuracy and timeliness
• Resolve customer service issues promptly and escalate major concerns
• Execute in-store promotions and marketing campaigns
• Enforce all company policies and operational procedures
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Store Manager

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in retail or service-oriented roles (preferred)
• Familiarity with laundry operations and payment systems is a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong multitasking and time management abilities
• Customer-focused mindset and problem-solving capabilities
• Basic computer literacy; familiarity with Microsoft Office is helpful
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
• High School Diploma or GED required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and move equipment or supplies
• Manual dexterity required for operating equipment
