Restaurant Hosting / Manager Jobs in Empyrean Bistro Hoboken, NJ

We are looking for a hands-on, energetic Restaurant Hosting / Manager who owns the guest experience from the moment customers walk in until they leave saying “WOW.” This role is the face of the restaurant and a key driver of service quality, team energy, and business growth.

This is not a desk job. You must love being on the floor, leading by example, pushing the team, and creating an exceptional vibe every single shift.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Hosting

• Deliver a WOW experience to every guest—greeting, seating, service flow, and farewell

• Own the front door and dining room energy

• Handle guest feedback, issues, and recovery professionally and proactively

• Ensure service standards are followed consistently

Team Leadership

• Run effective, motivating pre-shift meetings

• Set clear expectations for hosts, servers, and support staff

• Be present on the floor during peak hours (especially weekends & Sundays)

• Coach, energize, and hold the team accountable

Operations & Process

• Create and follow daily task lists, checklists, and shift schedules

• Ensure cleanliness, readiness, and smooth service flow

• Coordinate with kitchen and bar for timing and guest satisfaction

Business Growth & Administration

• Actively contribute ideas to increase sales and repeat business

• Handle basic online/admin tasks:

  • Updating business hours

  • Responding to emails and inquiries

  • Supporting marketing and guest outreach

• Assist with reservations, waitlists, and capacity management

• Prior restaurant/FOH management or lead hosting experience preferred
