The Business Development Manager acts as a bridge between the organization and the profit sector focusing on companies, philanthropies, and individuals interested in supporting the mission of Byte Back. The role also includes leveraging relationships to engage new partners, create awareness, and promote resources for the organization.
About Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development and outreach plan.
- Manage existing relationships with potential and current supporters and pursue potential new relationships.
- Work with internal Byte Back team members to help prepare and write compelling letters of interest, proposals, and reports (including assembling required documentation and budgets).
- Serve as Development lead in developing and managing Byte Back's B2B Model of offering customized computer training.
- Analyze and report on trends, patterns, and results of outreach.
- Utilize digital marketing strategies to reach potential supporters.
- Develop and implement strategies for boosting visibility for the organization.
- Coordinate and host events and fundraisers to raise awareness and resources.
- Develop and maintain tracking systems to measure success.
- Monitor progress and interact with departments to ensure objectives are being achieved.
- Represent the organization at various trade associations, conferences, and other events
- Work with Byte Back volunteers to support Scholars.
- Develop employee resource group strategy and employee giving strategy to present to corporations.
Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
- Proven work experience in business development or related field within a non-profit environment.
- Prior experience managing relationships with corporate contacts.
- Proficient in MS Office, database, and CRM software (Salesforce preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, trustworthy, and ability to take initiative.
- Knowledge of current trends in business development.
- Understanding of the non-profit sector.
- Prior experience working with skills based volunteers encouraged but not required.
