Senior DevOps Engineer Job Description

Responsibilities:

Schedule and implement change to the build / release / version-control process
Guide Agile team Release team on best practices and procedures
Support pre-production, managed environments for middleware services and applications
Provide deployment support across multiple non-production environments like Dev, QA, UAT and Dry Run
Deploy code and other proactive maintenance activities
Install test and security frameworks into existing deployment pipelines
Own specific deployment problems and provide active coordination to resolve a specific problem
Maintain and suggest improvements to the deployment scripts and tools
Update documentation that communicates standards and best practices of the DevOps team
Champion and evangelize the vision for the Release Strategy

Experience / Skills:

BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other Engineering disciplines
AWS Cloud Practitioner certification
8 years or more years of experience understanding software development practices, version control / branching strategies and building CI/CD pipelines for cloud workloads
Expert in streamlining and triggering AWS pipelines – from Board to Repo (Git) to Pipeline (automate). Can build pipelines from Day 1
Expert with PowerShell or Python
Experience with Microsoft Technologies (Visual Studio, VB, C#, .NET, SQL Server) and DevOps tools for Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Chef, Ansible)
Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker containers
Strong experience with DynamoDB and AWS DB services
Understand Environment Security Vulnerabilities and how to remediate them
Ability to work through ambiguous situations.
Excellent presentation, verbal, and written skills.
Excellent problem solver and apply full-time focus on automating processes towards getting changes into Production
