We are currently seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Project Accountant II to join our dynamic team in New York, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to take on full-cycle accounting responsibilities and play a critical role in supporting our financial goals across various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full scope of project accounting including project setup, costing, tracking, and financial closeout
• Monitor actuals vs. budgets for Production Groups and prepare variance reports
• Perform informal project reviews to ensure accurate revenue recognition
• Collaborate with managers to resolve budget/revenue variances and improve project financial performance
• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial close processes
• Conduct close-out meetings and recommend corrective actions where needed
• Coordinate financial activities between project teams and the Accounting Department
• Monitor and support contract compliance and adherence to accounting standards
• Assist in collections and resolve contract terms detrimental to company financial goals

Required Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree in Accounting/Finance (Bachelor’s preferred)
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in project accounting
• Experience with accounting software such as FinancialForce (or similar)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Self-directed with ability to work under tight deadlines
• Understanding of the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry is a plus

Work Requirements:

• This is a full-time, in-office position based in New York, NY
• Must be flexible to work overtime as required
