Prepares for patient appointment by reviewing daily schedule of lab and all providers prior to appointment/maintain workflow. Work with team members to ensure a smooth workflow, implement daily duties and new programs as needed

Responsibilities:

• Greet and place patients in appropriate exam room, obtain pertinent medical history and information, vital signs, medication reconciliation and document in EMR
• Clean and reset rooms in between patient exam ensuring compliance with infection control standards
• Assist provider as needed for procedures
• Provide treatments as orders, immunizations/injections
• Perform laboratory and diagnostic functions such as venipuncture, UA, POCT, EKG
• Assess medical needs and provide medication instructions as needed
• Translation assistance as needed
• Triage patients in room and on the telephone
• Return phone call and messages/follow up in same day
• Medication refills
• Keep patient exam rooms/lab stocked and organized and order supplies as needed
• Routinely review medical samples and supplies for expiration date and inventory
• Check status of referral if they have been scanned in or pending
• Participate in staff training and scheduled meetings
• Report safety hazards and concerns to supervisor immediately
• Maintain safety and security of PHI and maintain HIPAA
• Carry out duties that support the mission, vision and value of this practice
• Assist in upholding a positive patient experience

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills to obtain patient history and document patient medical information
• Proficient computer skills and familiar with EMR
• Knowledge of Universal Precautions and Infection Control
• Knowledge of HIPPA and confidentiality

• High School graduate or GED
• Valid Medical Assistant Certificate
• CPR
• Chicago, IL 60631: Relocate before starting work (Required)
