The Shift Leader supports the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations. This role is responsible for managing shifts, coaching team members, ensuring compliance with standards, and contributing to the restaurant’s success in key areas such as service, food safety, and profitability.

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage daily shift operations
• Ensure food quality, service, and cleanliness standards are consistently met
• Complete shift-specific tasks such as inventory management, product ordering, and cash control
• Train and coach team members on DQ systems, food safety, and service routines
• Support onboarding and orientation for new hires
• Assist in executing business plans and store goals
• Monitor labor and inventory costs; adjust staffing based on store demand
• Understand and respond to key financial metrics such as COGS and P&L
• Ensure excellent guest service at all times
• Promptly address and resolve customer concerns
• Create a welcoming and friendly environment for all guests
• Support hiring, training, and performance management of crew members
• Provide feedback and coaching during and after shifts
• Help prepare employee schedules based on business needs
• Foster a positive and professional work environment
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
• Role model and enforce safe food handling practices
• React appropriately to emergencies or incidents in the workplace
• Store Marketing
• Suggest ideas to attract new customers and increase sales
• Assist with local marketing activities as directed by the General Manager

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant (quick service preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven ability to manage labor and cost of goods
• Must be ServSafe® certifiable or willing to obtain certification
