Full Time Senior Accountant Jobs in Universal Nutrition New Brunswick, NJ

We are looking for a strong-minded and adaptable Sr. Accountant to join our growing organization. The ideal candidate brings a solid background in private business accounting—preferably within manufacturing or consumer packaged goods—and is eager to take ownership of key financial functions including month-end close, reconciliations, cash forecasting, and process enhancements. Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes
• Ensure timely financial close results within 5 days
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations for seven accounts
• Record weekly payroll expenditures
• Analyze the general ledger to ensure accurate capture of all revenue and expenses
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and transaction documentation
• Act as liaison with external Sales & Use Tax team
• Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Review payments and receipts to identify process improvements
• Administer weekly check runs and make expenditure recommendations
• Prepare cash forecasts and identify financial risks and opportunities
• Process ACH and wire transactions
• Improve and maintain general ledger integrity
• Monitor fixed asset activity
• Provide accounting recommendations to support decision-making

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience (experience in manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, or privately held businesses strongly preferred)
• Proficiency in ERP systems and data analysis tools; strong computer literacy required
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with working knowledge of Word and Outlook
• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a key contributor within a team
