We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook with barista experience to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality food items in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety and handling procedures, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.

Duties:

• Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables and meats.
• Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager.
• Ensure all food items are prepared according to safety standards and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area.
• Handle cash transactions accurately when required, utilizing POS systems effectively.
• Maintain inventory of food supplies and assist with ordering when necessary.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during peak hours.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe dining experience for customers.
• Manage time efficiently to meet service demands while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in food service or the food industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
• Familiarity with coffee preparation is a plus but not required.
• Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to help others in the kitchen.
