Bookkeeper Job Description

Lawyers for Children (LFC) is currently seeking a part-time bookkeeper to join its Finance Department working in-office approximately two days per week. The bookkeeper will assist the Director of Finance with a number of activities related to the financial operations of LFC.

Job Responsibilities:

Communicating with AP vendors, reviewing vendor bills for accuracy, research and analysis as needed.
Posting payroll journal entries.
Coding and posting vendor invoices, issuing and processing checks.
Monthly bank and account reconciliations.
Posting donor receipts, making bank deposits, recording receipts from different sources and monthly reconciliations with Development department.
Organizing and maintaining both paper and electronic employee files, supporting Human Resources with file audits.
Converting employee documents to digital formats.
Sorting financial mail, filing, and copying.
Other projects and responsibilities as needed

Qualifications/Skills:

Experience with QuickBooks online is required.
Excellent data entry skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
Attention to Detail
Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
Accounting Associate degree preferred.
