System engineers are professionals who manage, monitor, install, configure, test, and maintain hardware, software, and other system tools. 

Responsibilities of a system engineer:

• Monitor the performance of systems
• Install, configure, test, and maintain hardware, software, and other system tools.
• Restore data and maintain a backup storage system
• Enhance the performance of the system if required
• Handle issues based on reports
• Carry on hardware inspection on default hardware
• Maintain a report log
• Diagnose hardware and malware issue
• Provide security software tools.
• Install operating system and other software’s
• Ensure its infrastructure availability.

Requirements of a system engineer:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering
• Working experience as a system engineer is an added advantage
• Scripting skills in shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, and Python.
• Networking knowledge in OSI network layers, TCP/IP
