About Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra

The Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1969 by several area musicians and community leaders who wished to have a good local orchestra perform under the direction of an outstanding conductor. Today, under the leadership of Daniel Meyer, Artistic Director, the WSO presents a classical concert series at the Palace Theatre, and two pops concerts including "Home for the Holidays" and in May 2014 "An Evening of Pink Floyd." The WSO welcomes the community to enjoy a free summer concert at the Robertshaw Amphitheatre in St. Clair Park in Greensburg in June or July. The WSO also presents Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Ballet each December with the Laurel Ballet Dance Company of Greensburg. The popular Chamber Music Series at University of Pittsburgh Greensburg began in 2012.
