Friends Of The Va Puget Sound Fisher House Careers in Seattle, WA

The VA Puget Sound Fisher House provides "a home away from home" for the familiies of Veterans and active duty military who have a loved one receiving inpatient care at a Seattle area hospital. Families must live a minimum of 50 miles from VA Puget Sound and rooms are available on a "first come, first served" basis. Families stay for free as long as their patient is hospitalized, saving them an estimated $200/night, All programs of the House are directed at "taking care of the caregivers', proviiding them support and rest for themselves during a difficult time. Fisher House As a 501(c)(3) the Friends are charged with raising funds and awareness in support of the Fisher House at VA Puget Sound Healthcare System. The Friends support the guest programs of the House, augment the needs of the House which would otherwise have to be provided by the VA and are "paying it forward" to the Fisher House Foundation to support the building of new homes on VA and DoD facilities.
