Chasing Clouds Studio was founded by block print artist Y. Fujii with a few hand-carved, block print notecards. Since then the business has expanded its offerings to include block print art, handbound notebooks, holiday ornaments (under the brand CCS Ornaments) and red envelopes for the lunar new year. All products are based on hand-carved designs and are hand-produced. The design aesthetics is placed heavily on the "mark of hand" --- qualities that cannot be found in printer/digital/machine-made products. Hand-mixed colors, texture, spontaneous marks and organic variation; they are what make each item unique and beautiful. Chasing Clouds Studio strives to showcase the beauty and preciousness of natural life on Earth. That concept is manifested in the design, choice of materials and process.
