Today Phoenix House is seeking a Human Resources Intern to join their team in Brooklyn, NY. As an HR Intern, one will be given the opportunity to learn further about HRIS systems and all related reporting for leading national non-profit. This will allow the intern to gain insight and experience, working along side knowledgeable staff in the area that they specialize in Benefits, Payroll, and HRIS. In addition, the intern will be responsible for working on special projects selected by the department manager/director. With initiative, it will lay a solid foundation for the interns career. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Manage HRIS and all related reporting for national non-profit.
Run ad hoc reports, inquiries and specialized reports;
Perform Pre-Conversion Data Scrub; Data Mapping; Data Testing; Parallel Processing;
Process Documentation;
Requires some data entry and spreadsheet manipulation for reporting purposes;
Responsible for maintaining an updating some files and records;
Work on HR projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum must be enrolled in an Undergraduate program and have earned enough credits hours to be considered at Junior or Senior level; or, be enrolled in a Masters degree program
Masters degree program, preferred
EXPERIENCE:
This is an entry level role. Interest in Human Resources field needed
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Independent worker; self-starter, detail oriented, and accurate
Ability to communicate effective with exceptional written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical abilities and organizational skills
Advanced use in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong EXCEL
SCHEDULE / LOCATION:
Maximum of 25-30 hours per week; Flexibility with hours between 8:00a 6:00p Monday Friday. Or full-time during summer months.
