Business Analyst Job Description

Responsibilities:

Engaged in discussions with all levels of employee from sales to leadership
Developing and actively supporting strategic initiatives
Involved in business process review and execution consultation across various roles
Customer facing contributions (presenting and delivering analytical value though business intelligence and collaboration)
Create unique reporting perspectives to empower decision makers across a wide range of business categories from sales, operations, financials, performance management and account management (Reporting)
Understand and utilize the current reporting suite (Navisphere Analytics and custom reporting)
Pursue and deliver an efficient reporting platform for users (role based)
Understand and utilize the custom reports created by other CC Analysts, as appropriate
Develop additional custom reporting as required
Train and mentor colleagues to understand and apply the available information tools and resources to drive a culture of analytics and assure fact based decision making (Education):
Execute branch outreach to employees in various roles across the office (execute an established teaching agenda by topic or role)
Interact with other analysts in the office/region to assure alignment, education and teamwork
Gain involvement in employee onboarding to provide an initial understanding of the available tools and resources

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

Strong understanding of the CHRW Navisphere platform (including Navisphere Analytics)
Strong competency with Microsoft Excel
Crystal Reports, Microsoft Power Pivot or SQL skills a plus
Experience using various reporting and analytical tools
Experience in assuring data and process governance and data quality
Strong knowledge of CHRW modes/services
Ability to apply information insights to solve business problems
Capable of working across groups and keeping projects on task with assigned timelines
A good IT/Business liaison
An effective speaker and presenter to customers, suppliers and internal constituents
Ability to ask appropriate questions, interpret data results and strive for action from learnings
Capable of developing quantitative metrics to score the results of key business initiatives
Proven ability to think creatively to develop a data model or perspective to answer challenging business problems or scenarios
Effective speaking and listening skills
Creates comfortable, open-minded conversations with those who seek information, guidance or analytical collaboration
Willing to tackle difficult scenarios and drive change where necessary
Organized individual with strong self and project management disciplines
Bachelor's degree
