• Established assisted living and memory care community in Ely, MN is seeking candidates for a Resident Assistant (RA)/Caregiver to join our team.
• Looking to fill PT and FT positions. All positions include every other weekend. All shifts available: AM, PM, awake NOC/overnight.
• Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, medication administration, range of motion and general caregiving tasks
• Responsible to adhere to information and precautions contained in individual residents' Care Plan
• Medication administration
• Read and record temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure of residents
• Administer treatment to residents including TPR, weight, hot and cold applications, application of support stockings and ace bandages and diabetic food soaks
• Responsible to report any noticeable changes in residents' physical condition, attitude, reaction, appetite, etc., to supervisor on same day of observation
• This position will also provide assistance with laundry, housekeeping and life enrichment activities
• Engage in respectful social interaction with resident, including friendly conversation and empathic support as well as respecting residents' privacy and property

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Candidate must pass a basic written competency and skills test
• Must be hardworking and dedicated to provide an exceptional caregiving experience
• Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal and cooperative relationships with management, staff, residents and residents' family
• Candidates will be subject to a criminal background study
• High school diploma/GED is preferred
• CNA is not required, prior caregiving experience is preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to stand, speak, and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to listen and communicate clearly, fluently and diplomatically orally and in writing in the English language
• Ability to bend and stoop using good body mechanics
• Ability to reach above the shoulder level on a regularly basis
