Responsible for the organization’s cost accounting and inventory valuation. Strong emphasis on reporting and engaging with appropriate business units to reduce costs and to track actual expenses to planned expenses. Additional responsibilities include financial planning process, monthly accounting cycle closure and assisting in external and internal audits. Ability to work in dependently, implement systematic approach and be able to communicate effectively to upper management.
Responsibilities:
Collects and analyzes data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchase, inventory and labor
Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Performs accounting reconciliations, books journal entries in preparation for financial reporting
Possess a proficient knowledge of accounting processes and procedures which may include, but not limited to A/R, G/L, Inventory, A/P, and Payroll
Perform analysis and reconcile general ledger accounts
Identify areas where process improvements would benefit team
Assist Accounting and Finance departments with transactional activities.
Assist with monthly financial closing and analysis
Review transactions, documents and reports for accuracy
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting/Finance, Master’s Degree and/or CPA a plus
At least 4 years of experience in finance or accounting function, manufacturing experience highly desired.
Demonstrated knowledge of computer systems: Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and ERP, preferably Oracle and/or Infor
Must have thorough knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger, capital asset accounting, cost accounting and financial data analysis
Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy requiring minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal team building and motivational skills
Ability to communicate or present information, both verbally and written, effectively with all levels of the organization
Strong analytical skills, able to understand complex data and issues with the ability to think critically
Experience coordinating across multiple functions
Able to analyze and grasp a situation quickly from different perspectives and create well-reasoned solutions
Highly organized with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
