Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer with 5+ years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in big data technologies, cloud platforms, and data modeling, with the ability to optimize data processes for analytics and business intelligence.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines and workflows.

• Build and optimize data architectures and data models for analytics and reporting.

• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and availability.

• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and error-handling strategies.

• Work with large datasets and integrate data from multiple sources (structured and unstructured).

• Develop, test, and maintain data APIs, microservices, and real-time streaming pipelines.

• Ensure security and compliance for sensitive data following best practices.

• Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a related role.

• Strong experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).

• Proficiency with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka.

• Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Talend, Informatica, AWS Glue, dbt).

• Strong skills in Python/Scala/Java for data processing.

• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native data services (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks).

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.

• Familiarity with real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data lake architectures and Delta Lake/Apache Iceberg.

• Familiarity with machine learning pipelines and MLOps.

• Knowledge of Airflow, Prefect, or Luigi for workflow orchestration.

• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
