Staff Accountant Job Description
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to work as part of a collaborative Human Resources and Accounting team. You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service and accurate payroll processing through our payroll system ADP WFN.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Weekly, Semimonthly payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner. Enter salary adjustments, commission payments, bonuses, vacation, sick pay and other payroll related data in preparation for payroll processing. Process a full range of recurring and non-recurring payroll activities such as generate reports, review and validate timecards on a biweekly basis. Answer customer inquiries related to timecard issues, pay and leave
- Review computed wages and correct errors to ensure the accuracy of earnings. Ensure that all changes to payroll are processed correctly.
- Processes wage garnishment, pay levies, or other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely matter, including reporting to the necessary State office or jurisdiction and assisting employees with general process.
- Assist employees with general payroll questions and educate as needed on company-specific payroll policies.
- Work closely with Human Resource and Accounting on all payroll related financial analysis and issues.
- Perform quarterly deduction audit to ensure accuracy on benefits and other deductions.
- Responsible for incoming and outgoing mail (e-mail, letters, packages etc.).
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand new, highly technical concepts
- Detail-oriented and meticulous
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal, multi states payroll and benefit regulation compliance preferred
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks and ADP payroll system is a plus
- Must have cultural sensitivity to work within a diverse employee work setting
- Must be able to work 40 hours/week
