Responsibilities:

• Support the Banks client-first focus and rules of engagement maintaining a professional demeanor, working as an active member of the CNOB team, providing all clients excellent service, always striving to make CNOB A Better Place to Be
• Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments
• Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts
• Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data, scheduling required jobs and verifying data
• Prepares payments by accruing expenses, assigning account numbers, requesting disbursements and reconciling accounts
• Performs statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes and write narrative reports explaining findings
• Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares a balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position.
• Audits contracts, orders and vouchers and prepares reports to substantiate individual transaction prior to settlement
• Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures
• Installs, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures
• Submits recommendations for improvements to accounting operation
  
  

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of various federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act, Community Reinvestment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Regulation E and US PATRIOT Act
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and FASB Accounting Standards with extensive knowledge of financial reporting and general ledger reconciliations
• Thorough understanding of federal banking compliance and requirements

Requirements:

• 4-year degree preferred but not required
• At least 3-5 years experience in Accounting or Accounts Payable Function, preferably with a banking or financial institution
