Substitute Teacher Jobs in RISE Education System Hayward, CA

RISE East Bay Campus is seeking dedicated and flexible Substitute Teachers to support our Preschool and Elementary School programs. Assignments may be short-term or long-term based on campus needs and your availability and preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be available and responsive when called for assignments
• Follow daily lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher
• Carry out the responsibilities of the regular teacher, including instruction and supervision
• Monitor students during recess and lunch periods
• Report any student accidents or injuries to the front office
• Submit an end-of-day report detailing classroom activities and observations
• Accurately track your hours using the school’s timekeeping system
• Complete additional duties as assigned by school leadership

• Strong classroom management and teaching skills
• Enjoy working with children and young adolescents
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
• Enthusiasm for contributing to the school’s learning community
• Willingness to follow an existing curriculum and provide meaningful instruction
• Ability to supervise students safely and responsibly
• Familiarity with basic classroom technology (computers, projectors, printers)
• Comfort using digital tools like email, word processing, and online classroom resources
• A clear understanding of and commitment to the RISE Mission and Vision

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
• 1–3 years of experience teaching or working in a classroom setting
