CPA Senior Accountant Jobs in Variety Staffing Eatontown, NJ

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to lead key financial functions, ensure accurate reporting, and support business decision-making with insightful financial analysis. This role is essential to maintaining compliance, strengthening internal controls, and supporting leadership with timely financial data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
• Account Reconciliation: Conduct detailed reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Journal Entries: Create and post complex journal entries in accordance with accounting standards.
• Month-End Close: Lead the monthly close process, including adjustments and review of financial data.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze trends, variances, and performance metrics to support business planning.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in developing and tracking budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
• Internal Controls: Evaluate and maintain internal control processes to minimize financial risk.
• Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors and provide required documentation and analysis.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to GAAP and relevant regulatory standards.
• Sales Tax Reconciliation: Review and reconcile sales tax records.
• Commission Calculations: Prepare and review monthly sales commission reports.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
• CPA or active CPA candidate (preferred).
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance.
• Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
