Experienced Line Cook Jobs in Emory Decatur Hospital Decatur, GA

 We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cook to join our food service team. In this role, you will prepare meals for patients, staff, and customers in compliance with dietary requirements, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare menu items for patients on general and modified diets, as well as meals for the cafeteria and satellite locations
• Taste and inspect food for flavor, quality, and appropriate temperature
• Measure and weigh ingredients accurately according to recipes and diet guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment before, during, and after food preparation
• Record quantities of food prepared and used in accordance with organizational procedures
• Follow all safety, health, and infection control policies and procedures
• Utilize protective devices (gloves, hairnets, etc.) to prevent contamination and transmission of foodborne illness
• Work collaboratively with the dietary team to ensure timely and accurate meal service

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions clearly
• Two years of institutional cooking or food service experience, OR completion of a two-year culinary degree or certification
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods
• Knowledge of food safety and infection control standards required
