QA Automation Test Engineer Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a QA Automation Test Engineer to design, develop, and execute automated test scripts ensuring the quality and reliability of applications. The ideal candidate will have strong automation skills, experience with testing frameworks, and the ability to collaborate closely with developers and product teams.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web and API testing.
Execute regression, functional, and integration tests.
Identify, log, and track defects using standard defect management tools.
Collaborate with developers and business analysts to understand requirements.
Contribute to building robust CI/CD pipelines with automated testing.
Ensure test coverage, reliability, and efficiency of automation frameworks.
Continuously improve test strategies and automation practices.

Skills Required:

Strong experience with Selenium, TestNG, or JUnit.
Hands-on knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
Experience in API testing with tools like Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and agile methodologies.
Knowledge of defect tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar).

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

Exposure to Cucumber, Cypress, Playwright or other automation frameworks.
Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner).
Knowledge of cloud-based testing platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
