We Teach Science Foundation was formed in 2008 to inspire K-12 students to excel in math and science. We run a number of education-based programs, currently in California. Our core program is the Remote Tutoring and Mentoring (RTM) program, where we connect Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) professionals with middle school students for weekly mentoring sessions. Our long term goal is to work with all K-12 children in the US that require assistance to excel in math and science. We believe students’ interest and corresponding academic achievement in math and science can be dramatically improved when they work long-term with a STEM mentor who has a love for the subject. Using a web-based, interactive whiteboard and audio connection, Remote Tutoring & Mentoring allows students and mentors the flexibility of connecting weekly for one hour from two separate locations, using existing equipment.
