WCKG is back. When we last heard our Radio Juggernaut, it was struggling with the loss of the self proclaimed "King of All Media" Howard Stern. Howard's FCC battles and advertiser objections forced him to escape to the satellite radio safe-haven. Next to exit WCKG was Chicago Radio Legend Steve Dahl. Some might even suggest WCKG was the house Stever built. Dahl left for Jack FM and then later left "Jack" to blaze a new trail in the world of subscription "pod-casting". WCKG has boasted some of the biggest names in radio but was handicapped and later sacrificed in a corporate radio chess move that resulted in Check MATE for WCKG. Today is a new day for WCKG as these call letters make a triumphant return to the Chicago media landscape. This time, WCKG is an independent, locally owned and operated radio powerhouse.
