Washington Wild protects wild lands and rivers in Washington State through advocacy, education and civic engagement. Founded in 1979 as the Washington Wilderness Coalition, Washington Wild has been instrumental in protecting over 1 million acres of wilderness in Washington. We are currently working to expand the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area, protect new wilderness areas on the Olympic Peninsula and protect the quality of Puget Sound through our Source of the Sound initiative.
