About VOICEcorps reading service
VOICEcorps reading service, established in 1975, provides broadcast information 24 hours a day, seven days per week to people with blindness and other disabilities who cannot use standard print. VOICEcorps was the first reading service in the United States to be established by three individuals who were blind. VOICEcorps' more than 250 volunteers read local, regional and national publications on our airwaves, and host “live†call-in programs to listeners living in 21 counties throughout central Ohio. We also offer the Ohio Telephone Reader, a computer system that links listeners to Ohio’s major newspapers via telephone. VOICEcorps has fundraising activities throughout the year, including the Annual CareAthon & Celebrity Read-In (March); the Annual David Liebchen Memorial Golf Outing (Sept); and periodic Old-Time Radio productions featuring our talented volunteers.
