Virginia S Jfcom Transition Center Careers in Norfolk, VA

The Virginia Regional Center for JFCOM Workforce Transition and Business Development (Virginia's JFCOM Transition Center) opened in April 2011. Our purpose is to provice employment and business development assistance to contractors, civil service, exiting military employees and businesses impacted by the disestablishment of JFCOM - and the general public. The Transition Center is a partnership model funded by the Department of Defense, Office of Economic Adjustment through the Commonwealth of Virginia, with matching funds for the Center provided by the City of Suffolk (Economic Development.) Partners include Opportunity Inc., the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC), the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) of Hampton Roads, Paul D. Camp Community College, Tidewater Community College, the Rapid Response Team, and others. The City of Suffolk developed the Center and coordinates services. The Transition Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to 6 p.m.
