About UW Aeronautical Laboratory

UWAL is the organization that runs the Kirsten Wind Tunnel, located on the Seattle campus of the University of Washington. In operation since the 1930's, the Kirsten Wind Tunnel has hosted hundreds of aerodynamic tests of aircraft, cars, trucks, wind turbines, bicycles, sports equipment, and more. UWAL's high productivity and low cost make it especially suitable for aircraft tests for stability, control, take-off and landing configurations, loads predictions, high lift settings, and bending moment measurements. Many notable and historic things have been extensively tested at UWAL including the B-29 bomber, the 707, the AT-6 Texan (1930's), the AT-6 Texan II (current), the Beech King Air, the Ford Focus, and the ScanEagle. Specialties Wind Tunnel Testing Services
