Our efforts are three-fold: generate a source of income for Ugandan women; recycle what would otherwise be trash on Ugandan streets; and give back to Empower African Children, an established and proven, Dallas-based non-profit making incredible progress in Uganda. By purchasing or selling UgaBeads, you are directly helping Ugandan women and their families, the environment and the youth of Uganda. Every bead is handmade from recycled paper by a Ugandan artist - often a woman suffering from HIV/AIDS and poverty - and is purchased at fair market prices, allowing these women to grow their businesses and help support their families. Once the beads are purchased, 100% of the profits are then reinvested in the Ugandan community through Empower African Children (www.EmpowerAfricanChildren.org).
