Truex Métier is the reincarnation of Truex Associates, one of the most successful and well known staffing companies in the Bay Area during the 80s and 90s. Founded in 1983 by Mary Ann Truex and John Cullens, Truex Associates grew to 500 contract and permanent employees throughout California. Truex Associates along with its sister company, Truex Temps, were sold to a publically traded staffing company in 1998. After the sale, John and Mary Ann became involved in various venture capital and nonprofit endeavors including 6 years of research into Positive Psychology and its effect on corporate productivity.
