Located in the Largest City in Northern Manitoba, The Thompson Inn was constructed in 1958 and was the town’s very first hotel facility. The Thompson Inn has been the first of many businesses. The Royal Bank (first bank in Thompson) was housed inside these walls. The first area's radio station also called the Thompson Inn its home. A number of political personalities have visited Thompson from the early days and found refuge at the Thompson Inn, most notable was a Cabinet Minister who when on to be Prime Minister of Canada, Jean Chretien.
