The Troas Group is committed to providing consultation, training, and leadership development through an all hazards approach to crisis management with an end goal of a reduction of liability, property damage, injury, and loss of life. The Troas Group took its name from an extinct Greek city that Paul visited six times during his missionary journeys. During his second journey, Troas is where Paul saw a vision of a man from Macedonia pleading “come over and help us” Acts 16: 8-12. The Troas Group founder and president, William Byrd heard a call for help as well while his three children were attending a private Christian school. In 1999, he discovered his children’s school had little or no planning in place should a crisis arise. He also found his school was not alone in their complacency.
