They are characterized as being optimistic, able to multitask, tenacious, technologically savvy, driven to learn, team-oriented, and socially responsible. They prefer managers and leaders who are motivational, collaborative, positive, educational, organized, achievement-oriented, and able to coach. This generation challenges organizations, but research has shown that while Gen-Y'ers/Millennials can be "high maintenance," they can be highly productive, if given the right resources and flexibility to be creative.
