The International has a rich history that dates back to the turn of the 20th Century. The original Runaway Brook Golf Club was a nine-hole course built on 66 acres of land that sold for $640 in 1899. Through the years, the course has evolved through different owners. Geoffrey Cornish designed the course in 1954, and the legendary Robert Trent Jones, Sr. redesigned the course in 1972. Sold to the Weadock family in 1999, the club underwent an expansion, designed by leading course architect Tom Fazio.
