The Technology Entrepreneur Center (TEC) was created in the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2000 to capitalize on the institution’s renowned world-class innovation and foster entrepreneurship through its courses, venture and product competitions, workshops, and events. The University of Illinois has a 140-year history of producing scientific visionaries, Nobel Prize-winning innovators and some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs. The top engineering students and faculty at Illinois often have the desire to start, develop and lead their own companies.
