About Summer of Service
Summer of Service (SOS) is dedicated to education through service and travel by providing students with the opportunity to learn abroad in order to better their own communities and serve back home. SOS is a 501(c)(3) organization, registered in the state of Texas. SOS is working to strengthen and deepen student’s understanding and knowledge of the world. To do this students ranging from 6th-12th grades, from different walks of life will form a core group. The group will meet with the SOS leader who will guide them through service projects, team-building and leadership exercises, cross-cultural understanding, and conflict resolution skills, and practical training on travel and safety abroad. These experiences tie in with what kids are learning in the classroom. All of this culminates with an educational trip abroad in the summer that inspires students to come home and bring more positive change to our community. 2014 2-10 employees
