PhotoSound Technologies, Inc. was founded in September 2015 in Houston, Texas USA to develop and commercialize new biomedical imaging technologies based on optics and photoacoustics. The company developed and patented a 3D imaging platform for in vivo preclinical research and drug discovery based on co-registered photoacoustic & fluorescence tomography (PAFT) technology. A commercial benchtop instrument TriTom TM utilizes simultaneous spectrally-selective optical and photoacoustic excitation and detection to create unparallel volumetric assessment of live organisms, organs, and tissues. PhotoSound has also developed and is currently selling a variety of unique OEM electronic components for multi-channel parallel data acquisition. A Molecul US TM system is under development for clinical research that can benefit from co-registered ultrasound and molecular photoacoustic imaging.
