Pennsylvania Women Work Careers in Pittsburgh, PA

Pennsylvania Women Work is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping single parents, displaced homemakers, low-income heads of households, and women in transition achieve economic self-sufficiency through job readiness, education, training, and employment. Through the organization's New Choices program, individuals are able to participate in career development courses, basic skills, and computer training. In addition to these courses, participants receive individualized career counseling tailored to each person's need. One of the main goals of the program is to build confidence, assertiveness, time management and goal setting skills with the primary goal being, of course, to have participants obtain meaningful employment and/or further their education. The Pennsylvania Women Work New Choices program has expanded to 13 sites across the Commonwealth, serving 24 counties.
