The mission of Our House is to break the chains of homelessness by providing quality early childhood education and comprehensive support services for families who are homeless. For over 24 years, Our House has been a beacon of hope for homeless parents in search of quality, affordable care for their young children. In response to the burgeoning need of homeless families in Atlanta, Our House was established in 1988 by concerned community residents who realized that shelter rules required homeless families to leave early each morning and not return until late in the afternoon. This left families with no where to go during the day, and women with no one to care for their children while they attempted to find work or hold down a job.
