About Optimum Group
In 1975, our company took on the life insurance market in France, acquiring a company which we renamed Optimum Vie S.A. The following year, we extended our offer to include the property and casualty insurance market - one of our major sectors today - creating Optimum Insurance Company, the first of the Group's three existing property and casualty insurance companies in Canada. In 1987, pursuing inroads into the life reinsurance sector in the United States, the Group acquired the American division of SCOR, later to become Optimum Re Insurance Company.
