About New York Sun Works

New York Sun Works is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that builds innovative science laboratories for urban schools. Through our Greenhouse Project Initiative, we use hydroponic farming technology to educate students and teachers about the science of sustainability. In 2007, New York Sun Works created the Science Barge. The Science Barge is a floating public laboratory and urban farm that showcases a variety of sustainable power and water systems that produce food, clean water, and renewable energy in an ecologically sustainable way. In 2010, we completed The Sun Works Center at Public School 333 in Manhattan. The Center is a rooftop, hydroponic greenhouse classroom which enable the students there to learn about environmental science and sustainability while allowing them to grow their own food. With the completion of the Center at PS 333, New York Sun Works effectively launched its current initiative: The Greenhouse Project: 100 Labs by 2020. The Greenhouse Project is dedicated to
