Nativehire Bringingto Native Americans Careers in San Diego, CA

Nativehire is a division of the Southern California Tribal Chairmen’s Association (SCTCA) and was born out of the coordination and collaboration with Tribes, Federal Contractors, and the Department of Labor (DOL). Often it is the case that jobs are scarce in more remote tribal lands and thus the unemployment rate is higher in these areas. To help ease this situation the US Department of Labor / OFCCP regulations allow federal contractors / companies who are working on or near reservations, to give hiring preference to qualified Native Americans. However, with so many tribes in the San Diego area and no centralized method to get job information out to those tribal members, it was a difficult task for employers to make sure their job postings were seen. Thus, the idea for a database (job search engine) was born. Through the hard work and determination of both local tribes, several dedicated companies, and organizations, Nativehire was founded in 2012. ---------------- Vision ----------
