The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration has a huge mission - "to understand and predict changes in Earth's environment." As a steward of marine and coastal environments, it protects endangered marine species by regulating sanctuaries and managing the use of coastal areas. NOAA also provides information on ecosystems, climate, weather, water, and marine commerce and transportation.
