Cool, unique art with an abstract, expressionistic twist! Artist Statement My art is my voice; these are my thoughts and feelings manifested in a physical way. My paintings are expressive and thematic, rather than dictated by subject matter. Each piece tells a story and reveals something about me or the subject matter ... sometimes both! Art, to me, is best when the passion and viewpoint get a reaction; love it or hate it, I've done my job. My materials of choice are pastels (chalk and oil) and Kraft paper torn in irregular shapes. My creative process differs from piece to piece in the way I approach the composition and theme. For more creative pieces, I find music that matches my mood and let the work develop in an organic, natural way. For a commission, I first come up with an initial idea or sketch and let the piece develop from there. I always let the piece speak to me in terms of color.
