Meals on Wheels of Lehigh County, Inc. is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization registered in the state of Pennsylvania. Since February 1, 1971, Meals on Wheels volunteers have delivered two meals and provided a social visit and safety check each weekday to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. We serve an average of 350 individuals every weekday; more than 800 unduplicated clients per year. Clients pay for their meals based upon a sliding fee scale that takes into account income and expenses. More than 90% of clients need to have their meals subsidized. Each year we must raise at least $350,000 to meet the need. Our mission is to promote the independence and well being of homebound individuals by providing nutritious meals delivered by caring volunteers.
