Math Off the Books is an educational organization based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our aim to increase positive attitudes towards math by creating a fun atmosphere using sports, art, and other themes. Math Off the Book's mission is to increase students' positive attitude towards math, improve math skills, and make math fun! Our program uses a variety of teaching techniques involving four specific camp programs that aim to: - Build confidence & reduce math anxiety - Improve problem-solving abilities using real-world examples - Have fun! We can do this by creating an encouraging environment that is much different than traditional school programs. We do this with a focus on engaging students on three levels: - Creative outdoor games & activities - Creative team based activities - One-on-One attention Math Off the Books offers five 1-week sessions during the 2011 summer season, as well as one-on-one tutoring sessions in Charlotte, North Carolina.
